Get to Know Pat
Cancer Research Advocate.
Who is patrick palmer?
Hi! I am Pat, and I am now a full-time writer and cancer research advocate. This is how my life completely shifted toward writing for caregivers and supporting cancer research.
The moment the neurosurgeon told us that my wife had been diagnosed with Stage IV brain cancer, my world came crashing down. It was September 2011, and the prognosis was that she had six to twelve months to live. We had maybe one more year together? It was the most horrific news that I had ever been given. How was I going to care for her and who was going to show me the way? I had to learn how to be a caregiver on my own.
My partner, wife, and best friend died on February 15, 2016 from glioblastoma multiforme. She was 68 years old. She had lived for fifty-three months after that day in the doctor’s office. For those four and a half years, I dedicated myself to providing Angela with the most loving and committed care possible.
Angela’s legacy lives on through my involvement in the caregiving community, through my involvement in raising funds for cancer research, and through each word in each sentence of every book I write.
